Legler
My name is Jessica Legler and my fiancé is Jason Prewitt. I want to share the unique yet funny way that Jason ask me to marry him. Jason, nervous asked my Dad for his blessing. Knowing Jason did not
have a ring, asked him if he would like to use my grandmother's ring, which Jason said would be his honor. When Jason asked if he could get the ring, my dad chuckled, "I would love to get it for you but I forgot I gave it to Jessica to hold in her safe."
Jason tried different reasons to get in the safe. Eventually he got me to look for the key, but it was missing. He asked me a couple more times about the key throughout the week. Sarcastically I told him
he'd have to break into the safe if it was that important.
Sunday while I was trying to rest, I heard a loud banging noise outside. I went to see what was going on; Jason looked at me like deer in headlights.
"What ya doing?" I asked
"Cutting fire wood," he said.
"In JUNE?" I stated then went back in the house.
Later I went to talk to him, instead; I found white powder all over the
backyard and up the side of the house. He came walking around the corner
covered in the same white powder, with a look of triumph.
"WHAT HAPPENED HERE?" I asked
"I was cleaning the fireplace out." He responded
Jason was not a very good liar.
We went back in the house. I looked over at Jason as he was washing up, and
he looked as though he was going to pass out. I ask, "Are you ok"
"Yep" He said
Briefly, the room went quiet, when he came around the corner and went on his right knee. Although the words fell out of his mouth, to my ears it sounded like molasses. "WILL YOU MARRY ME?"
"YES," I answered
He then took and showed me, hid in the shed was the fire proof safe with 5 or 6 ax marks in it. YES FOLKS he took an ax to the safe and that is where the white powder came from. He really wanted in that safe. To win this contest would mean the world to us. It would mean having a wedding that would be closer to our dreams!
